L. E. Wilt, Director
This Society will in September start an intensive drive for 1,000 new members. I am making strong appeal to you for help in the attainment of our goal. WILL YOU PROMISE ME TO GET ONE NEW MEMBER? Use the application blank on the back page of your Settler. If each of you in Bradford County will get just one new member, we will have nearly 900 of your desired 1,000. Surely each of you can get one new member. Do it now – and send it to me immediately – Let me give the good news of the very large increase through your efforts at our annual dinner on the 13th.
On Saturday evening of September 13th, at 6:30, will be held in the Wysox Community Hall, our first Annual Dinner. It is open to the public and we want to fill the hall – capacity 200 diners. The speaker will be David Taylor, noted author and radio and television writer and producer, on “Highlights of Our Heritage.” This will be an inspirational speech that you will not want to miss. Tickets are $1.75. On sale at the Historical Building or watch the newspapers for details of the ticket sale.
We will resume bi-monthly meetings and details will soon be in the newspapers. We trust that we will have a “full house” at each of these meetings. Your Director has in the past been successful in getting some outstanding speakers – and hopes to continue.
