Dear Member:
In this my first communication to you it is indeed a pleasure to call to your attention the healthy condition of the society. The facts were published in a previous issue of The Settler but they bear repeating.
- As compared to nearly forty other Pennsylvania county historical societies ours is by far the largest in point of membership.
- Our society is largely supported by the dues that you pay while others receive more substantial assistance from city and county appropriations.
While our present membership is large in comparison with others it is certain that the valuable work of the society can be enhanced by a further increase. Our next goal is 2,000 regular members. Will you please do your part in helping to attain this? Tell your neighbors, friends and relatives of the value of The Settler which is not only authentic on points of local history, but also extremely readable. In addition to The Settler we have our museum with its fascinating artifacts and well catalogued information. Here you can be aided in tracing facts concerning your own family.
You have or soon will receive a statement of your dues. You will further the interests of your society by a prompt remittance.
Note: THE SETTLER is a quarterly publication of Bradford County History.
This publication can be obtained by contacting us at bchs@CQServices.com.
The cost of THE SETTLER is $4.25 (including shipping). THE SETTLER is also
available in the Museum Gift Shop. You can automatically receive THE SETTLER
by mail by simply becoming a MEMBER of the Society.
