Veterinary Register

The Bradford County Historical Society has the microfilm collection of veterinary registrations for 1889-1896 and 1905-1911. Pennsylvania passed legislation that regulated the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, requiring graduation from a legally chartered veterinary college or university. Those already in practice had to appear before the prothonotary of each county to continue practicing. The Veterinary Medical Register of Bradford County contains name, place of residence, veterinary degree, veterinary institution(s) and date(s), and place of practice. Two volumes, indexed.
